Creation of the illustration for cover and the 4th cover of the book "Un chant écarlate" written by Mariama Bâ.
"The work of illustration was reflected around the main characters of the story, Ousmane and Mireille. We see through their encounters two perceptions of the world that are opposed but bound together by love.
I therefore worked around key words and notions such as: Ousmane's attachment to his land and culture. In opposition to Mireille's uprooting and withdrawal. The social pressure - coming together through love and going apart through culture shock - the crossed paths - Masks - the duality between a colonial history and rooted traditions.
